Croatia Designated for Visa Waiver Program (ESTA)

Last week, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced that Croatia will become the newest participant in the Unites States’ Visa Waiver Program, beginning no later than December 1, 2021. Croatia will become the 40th member country of the VWP, a program that allows citizens and nationals of approved countries to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a U.S. visa. Member countries must routinely meet strict requirements related to counterterrorism, law enforcement, immigration enforcement, document security, and border management. Croatia’s membership in this program is a step towards stronger economic and security cooperation between the United States and Croatia.
